Hi! Instead of getting a VLSI board, I suggest that you consider purchasing a Turbo Screen Processor (TSP) board. The TSP board will replace the SFL-P board in your mac and connect directly to the serial port of your D-800 with its cable. You no longer need a VLSI board and optic cable with this setup.

The advantages of the TSP are:
1. faster processing
2. can run on mac with speed higher than 450 mhz which is the maximum for the optic interface setup.

You can probably get a used TSP board with cable for the price of a used VLSI.
