    Exclamation 9880 Banding

    Others Opinions would be apreciated
am running an Epson 9880 (6 months out of warranty), printing using the Epson driver and onto Photographic paper 250gsm, have to set the print quality settings to the highest setting to avoid banding lines, when we first got the machine was printing fine at other settings.

The banding is not at all noticable on other media, fine art paper and canvas, just on the photo paper. Have tried different photo paper for fear of it might've been the media, but banding is still there.

Have followed through with all the steps of nozzle checks (all good), head cleans, and also covered super sonic clean in maitenance menu.

The printer gets about 30cm into the print and starts to band, quite badly.

    Any opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

It's a long shot (and probably not desirable) but maybe worth a try...try setting your 9880's to do uni-directional printing versus bi-directional?

Found some interesting info on your issue at the following link:

    Epson 9800 - Banding in 360 mode

...pay particular attention to the second post.

    Hope this helps,
    Jon

Try adjusting the Feed Adjustment. You print a test pattern and choose the best setting.
I don't remember how exactly it is done, look in the Epson's manual.
