Default Used Epson 9800 - Status report

I'm trying to determine if an Epson 9800 at a client's site has been used heavily. I had him print a status report and it came back with significant life left in the components, but with total ink usage of 58,921 ml, and paper usage of 586,953 linear cm. Seems like a lot to me, but i'm wondering what others out there have gone through. Our printers are either new or have had new components installed and status reset Anyone have more/less ink/paper fed through their 44" Epson and would you consider this device heavily used?

We've had our Epson 9800 since February 2007 and I've used half paper and ink than what you describe. But I'm sure I use it a lot less than the average printer (where an ad agency). Nevertheless, I had the following parts replaced over the last year: head, dampeners and pump cap.

I'd say it's getting up there. The first two 7600s I had started making a light grinding sound as the head traveled back and forth at over 1,000,000 cm each.

I'm all for getting the most out of your equipment, but i don't recommend running them until they grind to a stop.

I reset the paper counter for tracking purposes, but our ink usage is at 58,207 mL. That is since sometime in 2006 or 2007. The printer predates me, but that should be right. We tend to print 10 to 20 feet of material every day. We had to have our heads serviced 8 months ago because it developed permanent streaking that would not go away with head cleaning or power cleaning.
