    Default Epson 9880 Paper Positioning

Anybody know how to overide the auto positioning and reposition paper in an Epson 9880?

I often do test small prints and I'd like to roll back the paper with the up button to the original location. I then scoot the image over correspondingly in the RIP layout so that I can print the next image side-by-side. I had a wide format Roland and a Mimaki which I could do this. I just got the Epson but I have poured over the manuals and can't find a way to do this.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

I have not tried this, however you could try to turn auto cut off and then unload/reload/feed the paper down manually (hoping that the sensor will still pick up the roll width correctly)?

I try to make test forms close to the full width of various paper roll widths and the shortest depth possible.

That helps. With auto cut not displayed and releasing the lever I can position the roll paper, close the lever and then back the paper up with the arrow after the printer does it's thing when the lever is lowered. I was hoping to find some magic over-ride and just position the paper with the up and down arrow buttons when the print job finished.

    Thanks
