If the paper is very absorbent, metallic inks lose their shine. You can limit the problem by printing a transparent varnish before and metallic ink on top.
Check if you have a color profile embedded in the images in the CMYK PDF file. If you have a profile and it is not the same as the one configured in the RIP or without a profile in the RIP, the separation will be false.

Have you looked on the RIP installation CD?
I'm using Highwater interface cards, but I don't think the drivers are compatible. Plus it only works on Windows XP!... it's really very stable but also very old.

It happens that PDF files from Illustrator have white objects declared as overprinting because in Illustrator they were created in black.
Is it possible with Pitstop to remove overprinting globally and without having to select each object?
Or a method to achieve the same result?
