The decline in the press market

When talking about the 3 to 1 replacement b.s. it means just what I said. if you have been awake during the past twenty years it should be obvious that offset has died and given way to digital. dumb choice but then again this country (US of A ) isn't known for smart management or innovation...

The decline in the press market

Where are these legendary machines? I have never seen them in forty years of printing. I assume you mean "copiers" you can call them digital or whatever but toner based machines are slow and expensive. Period. And require very little intelligence to operate. That's why they are so popular...

    Presstek fined by EPA

You sound surprised. When corporations control everything the consumers are the cash cows who pay for their crimes.

    Buying first offset machine

It's all digital now. I don't even know of a vendor who does negs anymore.

    Buying first offset machine

Good idea but I would go with a Presstek DI instead. I mean the certified pre owned units which are Ryobis. No need to get a plate maker since the plates are part of the machine. Very little set up and a whole lot easier than the 3304. I know I will get flamed for the suggestion. But after...

Feeding black paper on 3302 Ryobi

night light is better because it works like it should and you won't print on anything but the paper. Make sure the sensor is clean. It can accumulate a lot of dust because of the location. I run an 8.5 x 11 Classic Linen Epic Black 80# cover with metallic silver every year and it always works.

Feeding black paper on 3302 Ryobi

Try placing a small night light down under the conveyor area. the press can't "see" the paper

    Availability of Printing Press Parts

I can buy all Hamada parts; new not seconds or poor aftermarket. Including electrical. They have been out the U.S. market since ... what? 2009? It depends on the Company. I thought as a rule the standard time length after discontinuation of a product was seven years? Of course with Hamada, they...

LOL Sounds like "Go Daddy" is the actual "terrorist!"

Glad PP is working. Terrorist took down Godaddy and all my websites and services!

Let's don't go overboard and throw out the whole Constitution because some businesses were inconvenienced. We've lost far too many rights already. And stop calling it "terrorism." Are you watching Faux News or what? terrorism  1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce...

Things I wish my boss knew...........

Yeah I don't want to turn this topic into a complete gripe session (could use a stronger word there!) but I have had the unfortunate experience of working in printing all my life and I have seen it all. Why I didn't choose another "career" like running guns or selling meth escapes me (I'm too...

Things I wish my boss knew...........

I remember when employees were valued and not treated like a cheap commodity. Without employees, bosses would just be another body in the unemployment line

What's a really good 1 color press with roller coaster volume?

Keep in mind that the only small press line still in existence to my knowledge is Ryobi. AB Dick is gone. All the Presstek line are Ryobis. Hamada is gone. You can still get parts from Japan but finding tech support is going to be fun. In Phoenix there is NO ONE. Actually Hamada is alive and...
