    color balance in the pressroom

I am currently having viewing booths custom built. Can anyone tell what kind of ballasts to use with D50 lamps? This seems to be a well guarded secret! Tamale

Stephen, the issue is actually from top to bottom. The bottom label being the new run. The gold colour to the right of the letter G is a spot gold.

    Delta E

Its a repeat order but they changed the screen angles on the M and Y because of an apparent moiré. We have not seen any moiré in the previous orders.

    Delta E

The issue is with a label printed with a cmyk yellow-gold background. On the new order we just received the colour is now a reddish-beige and they claim it is within tolerance.

    Delta E

I have a supplier with whom I have a complaint with colour variation in a 4 colour process . He states that his colour is within spec at a Delta E of 5. My experience is with density and not spectrophotometry. Is a Delta E of 5 good? What is the industry standard in the matter? Thanks, Tamale

It appears to me to be a paper issue. If you are having problems with paper dust its probably because the paper is not well sized and newsprint is rarely sized enough. Also it may be an issue with newsprint that has a very high recycled content. Recycled fibers are much shoter than virgin and...

    Goss Community water stops

Never had the issues you speak of that severe. I rans a Goss HV with brush rollers and a K&B with Ryco spray bars. One thing we did find crucial is to run ink roller speed at at least 30% of max speed. Closing ink keys accordingly. This prevented ink emusification in the fountain when...
