    Acrobat SO SLOW...

Thank you Pressdork.. I found it.. I was searching all through settings, and every place I could think of. Would NEVER have thought to look at the "view" menu. (Windows.. It was right there also)

No Mac's. Windows. Macs are horrible for anything not graphics related, imho.

Need to purchase a scanner - seeking recommendation

Glad you worked it out. When I need to scan a bound book, I cut the spine off, then just scan the flat pages through a automatic feed scanner. Canon DR-7550C scans both sides at once at an impressive speed. Colors are not always great, but good enough for 99% of my needs. Just saying.

I mean the subscription version, with the blocky icons designed by 4 year olds. How does one go about restoring the adult version, pray tell..

Machine Identification Code ruining my prints.

So we mostly Foil 1st, then over print around the foil. Knock out the foiled portions. Toner will cover the spots. Assuming full coverage.

Machine Identification Code ruining my prints.

We had tried 100%k a few different ways. But still had the spots. Till some tech mentioned the option in the file properties, within the Fiery print queue. Only then did it work, without spots.

Machine Identification Code ruining my prints.

It's intended to prevent people from printing money! That is the whole reason. With so many new color printers out there, with great quality, anyone could just print whatever cash they want. But with this code embedded, the individual printer machine can be traced, to the owner. So if machine...

Machine Identification Code ruining my prints.

YES. More than that.. It's hardware embedded. By law. There is no way to bypass it on any color print. At least on any commercial printer. Gov got their own rules. EDIT: Digital Printer

Machine Identification Code ruining my prints.

So my associate has already worked this out. Canon1350 you HAVE to choose the Grayscale option in the print queue file properties, in addition to specifying 100% k.

Machine Identification Code ruining my prints.

We don't have "white print" anymore. Used it very little when we had it. But apparently, if you're printing the foil image in 100% k, the security dots are not applied. Note, on my Canon1350 you HAVE to choose the Grayscale option in the print queue file properties, in addition to specifying 100% k.

I'll try.. But we've tried a few things already, without success. So we mostly Foil 1st, then over print around the foil. Knock out the foiled portions.

I think he's referring to a type of "foiling" Looks like lamination, but it lays down a shiny gloss that sticks to toner only. Just like foil. But clear, and shiny.

    Sleeking Queries

Yes we can. Have done. On a Canon 10,000 toner. There is foil made to be printed on. Special coating.. I buy from Nobelus. Reg foil does not take toner well, though we have had success with knocking out the foil area, thickening the stroke of the image to slightly overlap the foil edges...

Those dots are supposed to be extremely small. Barely visible to the eye. Is the background so dark? Also.. I thought they were supposed to be printed in yellow. (?) Our problem was foiling. Foil sticks to the tiny dots too. Looks all sparkly across the page. .

Do I have to laminate both sides for folds

Nobelus.. And I'm sure others, have several options for Writable lamination. It's an option.

    How to judge paper quality?

I'd like to visit the book store and look at a few books. Maybe buy a couple cheap paperbacks, look them over, and see how they might change when brought to home or work environment. BTW.. I use a lot of Soporset. And keep the print room at 40% humidity or higher, for the inkjet printer. Any...
