we're looking for a tech. help/maintenance resource for our quadient mach 6 envelope printer. unit was purchased 2nd hand from first owner shortly after direct purchase. Maintenance from Quadient is very expensive and our usage will be at the low end so we're looking for someone who can work per diem vs monthly fee. Any thoughts?

we recently went thru something similar with our Formax ColorMax8, which appears to be the same machine under a rebrand.

A vendor we are very close with let us know the M&S on the machine is recommended to be $2350 per year, per manufacturer. Considering the price of the consumables from the manufacturer, and the downtime that would result from trying to learn to perform repairs ourselves, we feel that this expense is one that will pay for itself through continued uptime. Food for thought.

The Quadient/Rena Mach 6, iJetColor NXT, Colordyne 1800S, and Formax ColorMax 8 are all custom branded versions of the Astro Machines S1 printer. There are many Formax and Colordyne dealers who would probably be happy to help

Do you happen to know the most economical place to get parts? Been dealing with some issues and the cost these resellers assign to parts like rollers and belts are insane.

We use Walker Supply in Maryland. Don't know how they compare. The printers are American engineered, but made in China like most everything else. You could try the wholesalers on Alibaba that sell the printers.
