xerox 700-color calibration procedure

Does anybody have a standard calibration internal procedure they would be willing to share. We get inconsistent results on our 700. Run a one-off proof today and tomorrow the color is quite different. Exact repeat of a job from last week and the color is significantly different. We are struggling with getting a baseline that I can get to on a consistent basis. It seems like we are at a different starting point every job, every day..

same question. do you have a Fiery, Creo or FreeFlow? Do you have a densitometer, spectrophotometer or are you using the colorcal strip?

We have densitometer at our offset presses. We don't use them at the 700. We do not have spectro. We are not using colorcal.

The 700 can be a great machine if you get it dialed in correctly and then calibrate consistently using the recommended method(s). I HIGHLY recommend contacting a color specialist to get your workflow and color management down to a science. See Mike's response above, he is the owner of Correct Color and he helped us immensely. We are more dialed in than we ever have been and we now know that we are doing things the right way. No doubt about it, he's one of the best.

seems that this is your problem. Are you calibrating at all? I'm not familiar with the FreeFlow RIP, but you need to use the densitometer and follow the procedure.

Color inconsitencies and calibration xerox 700

I am having the same issues (upgraded one of our 250's to a 700) We have repeat, large quantity job that I need to get as close as possible every time. Paper stock I'm using is 10x13 10pt C2S. Would creating a calibration sheet for this stock help? And is there a relatively simple way to do that? I have found a few suggested ways that are very complicated!
