Ikon CPP 550 printing negative image

We have an Ikon CPP550. So far the manufacturer has been unable to fix the problem.

The problem is that at random the unit will print an inverse color image starting anywhere in the document and continue to do so until the unit is restarted.

This has been an ongoing problem since January of this year.

Has anyone else seen this problem or have any insight for Ikon as to what approach to fix this.

My suggestion is to replace the unit since Ikon have not been able to pinpoint the intermittent problem.

Let Ikon fix the problem on their own time and expense.

I prefer to be left out of this particular machines problems and just replace ours.

Thank you

You did not say what kind of Rip you had. If it is a Fiery Pro 80, the wrong version video board is installed in the Rip. It should be version c or later. Fairly common problem in Virginia area.
