  • Orange Peel - Textured Varnishes

Customer is asking for an "Orange Peel" varnish. In my 30 yrs I have never seen any textured varnishes at all. Is there an Aqueous Coating? I know I have seen UV Coating that was textured.

    Help if you can.

    Thanx,

    Bryan

Could they have seen/be referring to the clear textured coating that the Nexpress does?

Could be. It's an experienced buyer with a large firm though. Not sure where they had seen it.

look for large experienced screen printers specialized in varnishes, or UV-specialists,
yes, orange peel varnish exists, but very rare
I know here in Belgium just one printer.

i recently came across a print that has on it a silk matte varnish, i think this is what you're looking for, it appeared to look like an orange peel... contact a varnish supplier and ask them to send you samples of a silk matte...

We have Silk/Matte/Dull Varnishes, but they have no rippled/texture effect like an orange peel. I have only seen a screen method using UV coatings that make a textured effect before.

                      Isn't that a UV Product?

Yes it is UV. I have not seen any special effect AQ coatings just the usual selection of gloss, matte, satin and some pearl

Another printer is telling their customer that they have it in line on a conventional offset press. Hmmm...

Maybe there is a 'Textured' coating that isn't UV. Here is a selection of coating/varnish products
