Crane Currency of Dalton, MA—supplier of paper used for printing paper money, in more than 50 countries, since 1879—is being acquired by another company named Crane. The buyer, Crane Co. of Stamford, CT, is unrelated to Crane Currency or the printing industry & manufactures industrial valves, fluid, process control & automated payment systems, as well as bathroom fixtures for which it is well known.

Crane Paper’s famous “Bond”—the 100% cotton fiber paper—was sold in 2009 and is manufactured by Neenah Paper of Alpharetta, GA. In 2014, Neenah also acquired Crane's technical materials division that specialized in papers used in filtration applications.
