An entry-level Xeikon PX2000 Panther UV inkjet digital label press has been introduced, and is available as a 2-color press with field upgrades to 4 & 5-color configurations. Their Panther lineup uses PantherCure UV inks and the X-800 digital front-end. This press is targeted at the self-adhesive label market.
The PX2000 has a web width of 220mm (8.7”), running at speeds of up to 50m/min (164.5ft/min). PantherCure UV inks use a combination of LED and Mercury UV lights for curing which makes it possible to print on heat-sensitive substrates.
Their previously introduced PX3000 will also be available in 4 & 5-colour configuration, as well. The company says their goal is to bring to market the broadest portfolio of digital label presses in the industry.
