Southern California—known for sustainability & environment awareness—has heavily influenced a City of Industry based-converter, Marrs Printing & Packaging. Mars—a full-service digital & offset printer—has adapted its entire packaging production environment to solving the challenges of short-run, color consistent, rapid speed-to-market packaging for today’s household-name consumer products.

To compliment their green production philosophy, Marrs ordered the latest Rapida-106 / 7-color offset press with LED-UV technology, board and plastic packages. LED-UV ink systems are free from mineral oils, and consume about 20% of the energy needed by conventional processes—a key factor of their environmental consciousness. An Eagle System cold foiling unit is also being installed along with the Rapida.

Consistent, vibrant brand colors is one of Marrs’ most important demands. These challenges include: maintaining vibrant, high-quality packaging that fits a specific need, brand personality, market niche, and colors that match from package to package on store shelves, without color variation.

The Rapida prints with conventional and UV inks & coatings, and handles a broad range of substrates, including plastics—up to 1.2mm thick. To ensure the highest levels of color consistency & control are maintained throughout the run, Marrs equipped their new press with advanced QualiTronic ColorControl & ErgoTronic Color Control technology. These systems automatically run color control and quality checks based on each individual brand’s logo and signature.

Very good step taken. These steps tells us that how much packaging is gaining importance in every fields. Because there are so much advantages of packaging that cannot be ignored.
