  • BQ-140 Horizon Binder reset light stays on

We've just bought a secondhand BQ-140, after getting it home and turning it on it worked for a couple of books (the second of which pushed the cover back and glued it on at a bad angle), and then the reset light came on and stayed on. I've turned it off and on a couple of times but the power comes on with the reset light still on. I'm guessing it's one of the sensors but wondered if there are some obvious things I should check? I have a service manual to help me find my way around.

    Hi sir
I recomend that you check the IC that control The RESET buttom, can be defective
or the Relais if is coming with the relais can be faulty, or contacts dirty. Cleana 1) Reset button contacs and tight very well the loose wires 2) if is coming with relais clean the contacts very well with special contacts cleaner or replace and loose wire or break wire.3) if the IC is faulty, replace or see is desolder some pins or corroded, clean it.
Of course all must be done with the main power switch OFF.
Let me know, i do not have the schematic or service manual, maybe if you can send me I can guide you better

thanks. It turned out that the nipping table hadn't gone back to the horizontal position fully, so was slightly angled which was stopping one of the sensors, so it was stuck on reset. I manually pulled the cog under the table back into position and it worked fine again. One thing, is there a service specialist for this particular model binder that someone knows of? I'm happy enough to pay a specialist for their time, for anything that may crop up. It's an older machine, poorly maintained (well not maintained at all, not a single service since new, 15 years ago), so lots of things need tweaking and cleaning and probably replacing. I'll try to track down a serviceman in Waikato New Zealand, but that might be tricky, the next best thing would be talking to someone who knows these binders well. thanks.

It seems far too complex, costs money, involves a lot of people, will take time etc etc. And then you run out of excuses. Read the article.
