A curiosity: strange conversion results from custom icc profile

Theory states that Perceptual intent should provide “more pleasing” results. Practice shows that generally Relative Colorimetric + Black Point Compensation are often “more pleasing”. This is often due to the compression of Perceptual reducing overall contrast. It is very much profile, CMM and image dependent.

The more that an image is out of gamut, the more that it can benefit from some good old fashioned TLC with hand preparation/separation rather than relying on simple/single push button conversions. Not every image or client will need this level of attention.

Of course, YMMV.
