Trendsetter Error when making a Spectrum Proof

When I attempt to create a Spectrum Proof on a Trendsetter 800 II Quant.

I receive the following error:

" LV Not Enough Light for Beam Balance "

Any Idea what this error means? or What I might be able to do to correct it?
Never seen this before (and ive made 100's of Spectrums issue free) (minus air pressure at one time or another)

Google was no help

Re: Trendsetter Error when making a Spectrum Proof

It looks like your laser head might be going. How long have you had the trendsetter? Have you ever replaced the laser head? The power requirements for spectrums is higher then it is for plates.

Re: Trendsetter Error when making a Spectrum Proof

I was thinking this Might be the issue.
About 2 or 3 years (it was here and operational before I started a year and a half ago)

As far as Im aware, we have never needed to replace anything on it (yet)

Re: Trendsetter Error when making a Spectrum Proof

A co worker tried when he got in on Thurs.. same error for him.

I tried making a spectrum when i got in last night.

same error 3x in a row.
restarted everything, same error..

just tried 3 hrs later (nothings changed) and it imaged the black but then gave a:

" Raster Image data received from workstation was possibly corrupted. Please remake the plate or check for artifacts "

I just... dont get it.

???

Re: Trendsetter Error when making a Spectrum Proof

Ended up we had to un plug all the cables
(before doing so we took a look at each, none seemed out of place or disconnected to the eye)

We shut everything down, unplugged and replugged all cables in one at a time.

Turned it all back on

and 0 issues.
Plates and proofs all night long.

:)

A cable must have been a tiny bit loose...
Next time its something we will try a solution to suddenly random errors
