XMF and Taffeta

We're currently using Screen's TrueFlow, but in a couple of months will be transitioning to XMF. We run a mixture of traditional dot and SPEKTA (Screen's version of stochastic). In many files that contain blends or gradients, we have found that SPEKTA can salvage a job on press so there is no banding or abrupt ends to the gradient without the need to go back and alter the artwork.

At this point we haven't pulled the trigger on Taffeta, and are hoping that Co-Res will work successfully with gradients and blends. Fuji is hedging their bets in replies to my questions, and we're still unsure whether to spend the extra money.

Has anyone run into a situation on press in which Taffeta saved a job that Co-Res wasn't going to work?

Thanks
