This worked for me, but i used i1Profiler instead of Printopen.
Generating new (customized) ICC profiles
This section gives a general overview on the process of generating customized profiles. This process is necessary whenever your workflow is based on the devices used in your company and assumes that you have a tool to calculate and generate your own profiles.
New target profile
Prerequisites: If you create a profile for a new paper you want to use, you must first of all perform linearization.
Note: Depending on the substrate which the profile is created for, you may have to create more than one profile.
Different profiles are needed:
• When the front and the back surfaces differ from one another in their physical properties.
• For use with a fifth dry ink color.
• For the use of UCR or GCR.
• For use with one substrate which is provided in various grammages.
• For use with a specific screening system.
1. Print a test chart on the appropriate substrate on the press with Color Management disabled. This means that in the Job Ticket, all of the check boxes for Object Type in the Color > Color Management section must be deselected.
2. Start a tool for generating output profiles, e.g. Heidelberg’s Printopen, generate a new test chart and measure the printed test chart with a spectrophotometer.
3. Calculate the profile and check the curves.
4. Save the new profile under a name that makes it easy to identify.
5. Import the new profile to the NexPress front end application using the Resource Manager.
6. Assign the new target profile to the desired substrate via the Press Settings for that substrate.

Using Printopen to generate profiles specifically for Kodak NexPress presses
Printopen is a tool for the creating of ICC profiles.
For information on how to create ICC profiles, read the documentation contained in the Printopen package.
When you create ICC (target) profiles specifically for a a Kodak NexPress press using Printopen, choose the following settings for optimum results:
• In the main window of the profile parameter settings:
◦ Application: color laser printer
◦ Gamut mapping: standard
◦ Global print settings: standard
◦ UCR settings: Total dot area: 280 Maximum black: 100
◦ Press Change to open the GCR settings / black generation dialog box.
• In the GCR settings / black generation dialog box, either (to create a GCR profile):
◦ Select GCR black generation.
◦ Set the GCR value to 50%.
• Or (to create a UCR profile):
◦ Select Black generation.
◦ Set the Black length value to 8.
◦ Set the Black width value to 6.
• In the Profile calculation dialog box:
◦ Select Large (16 bit profile) for Profile size.
◦ Choose a name for the profile that makes it easily identifiable as a profile for use with your press, but that also identifies the used substrate. It is best is to follow the Naming conventions for Kodak NexPress target (universal) ICC profiles.
Save the profile. Install the profile for use with the NexPress front end software using the Resource Manager.
Installing and deleting ICC profiles
The NexPress front end application provides a large number of profiles for color management. You can create your own .
When installing a profile, the file is copied to the server hard drive.

1. To install a new ICC profile which can be used with the NexPress front end application, click the Administration button in the Control Panel.
2. Select the Resource Manager.
3. Select ICC Profiles. A list of all of the installed ICC profiles is shown.
Install
1. After clicking Install, the File chooser dialog box window displays. ICC profile files have *.icc or *.icm extensions.
2. In the file chooser dialog box, navigate to the desired profile and click Open to install it. The file is automatically copied to the resources directory.
Delete
Installed ICC Profiles should always be deleted via the Resource Manager of the NexPress front end application.
It is recommended that you make a backup copy of the profile because the file is physically deleted from the hard drive.
To delete an ICC Profile:
1. Select one or more profiles from the ICC Profiles list that you wish to delete. Please see also: Selecting items in lists.
2. Click Delete.
A dialog box displays, asking you to verify that you want to delete the ICC profiles selected.
1. Click Yes to delete the file(s) or click No to cancel.
Note: You can not delete ICC profiles that are associated with a substrate.
You are not allowed to delete ICC profiles that are associated with a Job Ticket Template.
