Job Tracking

We are beginning to look at finding a different way to track and schedule jobs within our facility. We currently use a variety of reports generated in different departments. I'm looking for a possible web based software solution that would track jobs throughout the process, from file submission to shipping. At least this is what I perceive. Any approach that people are using would be of interest. I've looked at the possibility of a digital white board. I would like some type of graphic interface that shows me "the big picture". Where each job is within the process.
Any and all suggestions are welcomed.
