Transparency on Bitmaps in PDF/.ps

always nice to see a customer using Quark to enable transparency effects
serious problems taking place when rasterizing transparency over bitmaps
fortunately I discovered a workaround on quark's forums

Two pictures boxes containing images. One picture box overlaps the other. Both have Quark Drop Shadow effect applied. When I made a pdf of the page a slight opaque box appeared near the top box. Tried all sorts of ways to get round it but found this worked:

Place a picture box over the whole page. Make color: white and opacity: 0.1%. Give it a runaround of none and make sure it's on the top.

This technique (except used .01% instead of .1%) I used just the other day for an InDesign document that wouldn't print because of font protection. Do this technique, no fonts to deal with when printing or exporting PDF.
