Page Imposition

Can someone please tell me how to do page imposition. I see a lot of programs, which I don't want to use, and diagrams of large printing sheets with placement of pages. What I would like to know if if I have a book that is 56 pages long, how do I place the individual pages in an order that they come out correctly when printed?

Thank you....very much. :)

Re: Page Imposition

It depends on the press and how it's going to fold, if it's going to run in sections like for example and 32 page section and a 24 page section that will get stitched and trimmed together. If you are doing the design just set it up as a 56 page document with facing pages and let the printer do the imposition. Most printers do not want any help imposing the job.

Ah, I didn't think of that. Can you imagine. :)
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
