UV Exposure Metering

In the past we've used our plate quality to judge exposure times with UV bulbs. If the floor is consistently too low, we need to use a longer back exposure. When fine dots don't form correctly, we need to use a longer main exposure. But recently we've purchased a UV light meter to gauge the power coming off the bulbs to get more of a heads up when we need to make an exposure adjustment.

It has been suggested to create a log, and take readings three times a day. I'm not sure we need to keep a log. And three times a day seems like overkill. I'm curious what sort of method people are using to check their bulbs?
