  • Importing Freehand to Illustrator.

I noticed that the new CS3 Illustrator can import later versions of Freehand files. Has any one tried this? and if so, how much success have you had. Im eventually trying to rip eps's through Rampage. Im asking only because Freehand is a horrible program and I can't believe people still use it. Thanks

I've tried it on a few things and generally hacks it up pretty good... For a small logo I might use it, but for an actual production job, I would still keep it in Freehand..as much as that program kills me.

    Print Embellishment Goes
    Straight To The Bottom Line

InfoTrends reported that interviews with more than 100 print customers demonstrated an appetite and willingness to pay premiums of 24% to 89% for special effects, over CMYK-only printing. They also indicated embellishment could apply to a significant portion of their work. Embellishment options can include hot foil stamping, spot gloss UV, embossing, debossing, letterpress, diecut shapes, lamination, duplex, triplex, gold foil, silver foil, copper foil, white foil, black foil, clear foil, etching, and laser cutting techniques.
