RIP will not accept changes to media

We currently have an Apogee RIP from 2002 and are using a palladio image setter. We bought them both used. When the machine was originally set up the installer setup the cassette sizes for the customer. Now we are trying to change those sizes and nothing seems to work. We can add more sizes to the cassettes list but when a job comes through it will disappear and not even show up in the jobs list.

Any help at all would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Re: RIP will not accept changes to media

Are you trying to send PS level 3 content?
Is there any ASCI encoding (bad if true)

Try a document that is square and well under the size limit, then increase bleed until it stops. You may learn some of its quirks this way.

Re: RIP will not accept changes to media

I believe postscript level 2. Not sure about the asci. This RIP/Imager was inherited from our sister company. They had different size plates than what we use. Only one plate size is the same. Images for that size work great. However, they setup the RIP using "setup files" utilizing toning curves, which I believe have been downloaded to the rip. Any time we send a different size image to it, it flushes. An 8.5x11 image on a 17x23 plate flushes. The error script shows the old sizes, not the new ones we have installed. We have changed the media in a couple of areas and the imager accepts the changes, however when it runs through the RIP it flushes.
