For the past 6 months we have been printing without IPA. The results have been really good the only problem we now have is that the waters are getting really dirty and we now have to dump it at least twice a week. Are there any ideas as what type of filtration system suits best?
Is it possible that our fount percentages are not what it should be. We use sustifix on all our presses, CD74 and Sm102 - 4% and XL105 - 3%. We have really good drying and a good water ink balance. Any ideas please guys.

Also, research the spinclean or delta.clean product that Technotrans makes (they also have some smaller related designs depending on your solution requirements). They are a great cleaning system that stretches our fountain solution for 4 times what it would be otherwise.

We have found that VARN's fountain pure filters work very well . . . we generally only have to clean our tanks every six months or so since we started using them . .. here's a link to some information on them

after going from ipa to not using it you most certanally will need to clean your water lines going from main tank to water pans.. otherwise your conductivity, and ph are going to be offthe charts..we use bleach to get,and keep our lines clean. also a flow clear is money well spent

Hello Cole,

The first step is to use a decent system flush, we recommend ABC Allied's 2-step system cleaner, A+B Systems Cleaner; it is far more effective than a single solution flush.
The second step is calcium control, using ABC Allied's Relief.
Finally, as you know, water cleanliness is of the upmost importance, especially when printing without IPA. We recommend a compact filtration unit to all of our IPA-free customers, the single multi-stage filter is easy to maintain and highly effective.
If you need any more information, just let me know.
