creasing in thepaper

hi

we are facing some Creasing problem in our web offset machine, Creasing means not small but to extend of 1 to 2mm( width by foldingin in the paper verticaly from top to bottom). please help us out to over come this problem.

Paper Creasing,

Find where the "Creasing Starts" is it at the 1) Infeed? 2) Printing Units? 3) Dryer? 4) Chills? 5) before the Folder?

6) In the Folder?

Thanks for reply it some times before infeed at times in the web path rollers.

Adjust festoon pressure lighter and maybe infeed pressure too....... Next apply one wrap of masking (paper) tape on idler roller at web edge, you may have to this on a few rollers to eliminate wrinkle (crease) - good luck !

Questions - 1) As the reel unwinds does the web look flat and even on entering the Festoon,

or starts creasing at the first set of festoon rollers ?

2) Or creases on leaving the festoon rollers?

3) Does the creasing occur at every reel change or only on certain paper gsm ?

4) Do you keep the reels wrapped until they are prepared for splicing ?

Creasing occur at all reels irrespective of gsm. Yes we keep unwrap the reels until they are prepared for splicing .Creasing at times times starts at the first set of festoon rollers.

Couple of questions. Did the creasing start after any work was done on the equipment? Is the paper from your usual supplier? When the roll unwinds do you see a 'Baggy edge'(long edge) in the paper? Have you contacted the paper supplier for assistance?
