Last December—after losing their beloved-KBA Rapida press due to a devastating fire—Canadian Bank Note (CBN), a 120-year-old Ottawa firm, turned to KBA to deliver a uniquely built multimillion-dollar Rapida 106, 41-inch 12-color press in record-time.

CBN produces secure identity documents: passports, drivers’ licenses & identification papers, on a variety of substrates. With demands from governments looking to create secure documents—safe from terrorist threats, counterfeiting & theft—CBN uses its KBA equipment to provide exacting solutions.

After the fire, KBA jumped into action, immediately providing a used press, and subsequently delivering a new Rapida 106, 12-colour press, in record time. As a result, CBN has remained one of the world’s leading producers of secure identity products.
