Inline Offset Cutting

The die that mounts to the blanket cylinder doesn't appear to be able to carry ink or an image, so that unit might not be able to print, just cut. Might work if you have a spare unit on press not being used. Like printing a 2/color job on a 4/c press. This is how it appears after watching the video.

Yeah I've done that on web & sheetfed presses, similar set up, we would apply litho perf (adhesive) right on the plate cylinder, make a plate with the image of where you want to perf or score. Then run it, later when done you gotta clean up the dust ! -- Good luck !

Erik,

That is what we saw as well, we are just wondering if anyone has actually used this type of product with any level of success.

cnygmc15,

We have a really tight registration kiss cut sticker job and think we will have a bear of a time with registration going from one machine to another, also the die is so complicated we were thinking of busting the sheet up to single ups but as soon as we do that we are messing with the guide and gripper.

Thanks all,
SK

Don't cut the sheet. This system should work very well for kiss cutting. We have a lot of kiss cutting using a similar system from cito on our xl 106 Heidelberg. Once you send the company the files they will request some changes to be made to the file before preparing the flexible plate. I remember there is a minimum distance of 3 mm between 1 line and the other. The results are nice.

Mazengh,

We are going to look into this system, thanks for the reply. Wondering if anyone in the states has had any luck with this type of cutting.
