Lauren Kern, formerly executive media editor of New York Magazine, has been added to the Apple team as their first Editor-in-Chief, to assist in their fight against fake news & clickbaiting.
Tim Cook has called clickbaiting “one of today’s chief problems,” noting the dilemma of “filtering out” malicious content while preserving the “great openness of the internet.” Although Apple doesn’t produce original content, it does hand pick, fact check & properly vet stories to promote and keep their users better informed, helping to stem the spread of clickbait.
