I received this survey related to our industry and I thought it would be good for others here to participate.

From the Graphic Communication Workforce Coalition

The Graphic Communication Workforce Coalition (GCWC) is encouraging businesses, service
providers, associations, and schools to participate in the 2019 Survey of the Graphic
Communications Industry. The purpose of the survey is to identify efforts that are currently
being used to develop the future workforce of the graphic communications industry.

The online survey is available until December 10, 2019.

Why You Should Participate in the Survey
  • It will make a difference. Numerous studies have documented industry-wide concerns about recruiting, training, and retaining our future workforce. This survey seeks to identify successful practices in workforce recruitment and development.
  • Your responses will provide insight into current practices.
  • It is fast and easy. The survey has been designed with your time in mind. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
  • There is no risk. Individual responses and contact information will remain private. Only aggregated data will be reported. You will not be added to any marketing list.
How the Survey Results will be Used

Survey responses will be analyzed, and published in a report in early 2020. The report will
provide a comprehensive view of current industry practices surrounding workforce development,
as well as how industry associations and schools teaching graphic communications are
contributing. The goal of the report is to identify best practices for recruiting, training, and
retaining the future workforce of the graphic communications industry.

About the Graphic Communications Workforce Coalition

The Graphic Communications Workforce Coalition was formed earlier this year to address the
issue of talent development in the graphics industry. The group already has nearly 50 members
consisting of associations, educators, and industry representatives who have united to address
this key industry concern. As stated in its organizing documents, “The purpose of the coalition is
to coordinate the efforts of all organizations representing the broad scope of the graphic
communications industry for creating awareness, recruitment of new people into the industry,
providing a framework for apprenticeship and training programs, and the retention of the existing
workforce.” Various associations and individual companies have taken steps to address this
issue, but GCWC is spearheading an organized joint effort for the mutual benefit of all parties.
Membership for the Graphic Communications Workforce Coalition is open to interested parties
representing the graphic communications industry. Those interested in participating are
encouraged to use this link https://app.donorview.com/kwMW to join the group. Currently, there
is no cost to join, only the desire to participate in the process.
