It would help if you also knew a little something about plates and presses.

Yes, this is a real problem.

What does any type of press do? It places ink onto a substrate. The quantity and placement is what is important. Colour is then only the resulting outcome and is not apart of the process.

I do find it strange that conferences on Colour Management and Continuous Improvement, don't seem to understand that it would be a really good idea to obtaining some inherent consistency in the process by eliminating the causes of problems that prevent that from happening.

They are continually trying to build a beautiful house with a poor foundation on shifting sand. One really needs to work from the ground up and not from the top down.
