Yup, Kodak is getting in on cryptocurrency - for photographers anyway:

or KODAKOne the "revolutionary" new image rights management and protection platform secured in the blockchain that seamlessly registers, manages and monetizes creative assets for the photographic community.at

And apparently Kodak’s share price more than doubled after the announcement.

The stock trading robots love seeing the word "cryptocurrency" in a company press release. Easy way to get a bump in your stock price I guess.

It would have been nice if the stock price had doubled because of something related to printing.

Uuuugh! Just felt a disturbance in the force. Companies making their own money, can you imagine apart from Kodakcoin perhaps the Agfabit? Or I-tunes where you can only pay with the Appletaler at an unfortunate € to AT exchange rate but with a great discount for the Renminbi? Petrol station chains where you have to use their currency. A world where goods are not freely traded between buyer and seller with costs not set by market forces but dictated by boardroom policies.
No wonder Wallstreet fainted with a massive boner at the thought.
