Printing on Newspaper - 45gsm or less

Hi All

Are any of you kind folk printing reliably on newspaper which is 45gsm or less on a wide format device? If so, what engines are you using?

We have some rather old HP1055 devices that do a wonderful job but we need to replace them as parts are as rare as hen's teeth. Ideally the new devices will be HP with a dual roll facility.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes

Paul

You could try Canon ipf plotter series. It needs to be one of the hundred series not thousand series. The hundred series uses dye ink unlike their big brothers that use pigment ink. Dye ink seems to work quite well with newspaper paper. I have successfully done proofs on a 60g newspaper paper on the hundred series.

Hi Johu

Really appreciate the reply. We are looking at the Canon proofers now so your timing is perfect.

Thanks again and best wishes

Paul
