We are able to delete image off of plates using an old deletion pen dipped into the developer. It takes a little while but eventually the image fades away. Using Kodak Thermal Gold plates.

Re: Legal issues with designer's files There is a ?freeware? program called PDFKey Pro that should be able to unlock it. It makes a copy of the Pdf without the security.

Re: A Prinergy Refine question The only reason you need to do a second refine is to map spot colours so I guess it depends on the quality of the pdfs that you receive. The shop I work in currently receives Pdfs from the clients for about 99% of the jobs and they almost always have errant spot...

Re: PDF compare Rob, what is the name of that plug-in. We use Prinergy here but I've never heard of anything you described. We use acrobat for any compares we need to do. If we need to purchase the plug-in, can you give me a ballpark price for Canada.

Re: Why are CTP plates still more expensive? Compensating for the loss of sales. Flim AND plates=plates only. I would imagine that product development and research would play into it as well. It is still an evolving technology. My guesses anyway.

Re: Dynastrip I used Dynastrip awhile back and what we did was save to a folder on the desktop. Once it was saved we moved it to the appropriate job folder. Still a hassle but it saves changing the settings in Dynastrip all the time.
