    Ijet color 1175

Sorry, I haven't checked back on this forum for a long time. Basically, quality was the biggest factor for me. We've been running the 1175P now for 10 months. We've had a few issues that support took care of, but overall it's been an amazing addition to the shop. As far as throughput, our...

    Duplo DC646 Any Good?

I can't imagine not having one at this point. Your digital operator can run it while other jobs are printing. It cuts business cards better than you can do with a regular cutter, and if you keep your imposition the same on jobs, it's a super quick and easy way to go. Plus the creasing and...

    Ijet color 1175

Sorry, I haven't checked in lately. Cost really wasn't that much different. Both based on coverage and usually under 1/2 cent each. As far as throughput, the FireJet claims a higher speed, but the print shop I went to that was running it, said they were never able to run at the top speed. And...

    Ijet color 1175

We just had samples ran on both the Firejet and iJetColor 1175P. I was actually disappointed with the Firejet. The blacks were just dark gray and the colors were very muted. The samples from the iJet were quite a bit better. The black was black and although the colors weren't as vibrant as if we...

Hello, I saw on PrintPlanet that you purchased a Firejet. I'm considering one and wanted to get some input from an actual user. We have KR addressing equipment already, so I'm familiar with the ruggedness of their builds. Any info would be appreciated. I don't even know a ballpark of what...

    True flatbed vs hybrid?

We installed the Fuji Acuity LED1600 a little more than a month ago. It's working out really well with being able to switch between boards and rolls. We're doing mostly rolls, but it will handle up to 1/2" thick boards. Takes about 5 minutes to switch between rigid and rolls.

    NAQP Owner's Conference

The NAQP Owner's Conference is just a little more than a month away. We've built this conference to be the best educational and networking opportunity of the year for printers and suppliers. It will be held November 7-10 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee. Hope to see you...

    Digital Press with 22" capability

We also have the iGen4 EXP and it's been great. We had the iGen3 prior to that. Color and consistency is outstanding. If you have a lot of use for 22" sheets - in my opinion - it's the only way to go. The Nexpress will run 26" sheets, but in order to do that, they patched a feeder from a...

    Trying to organize

Printers Plan (Print Estimating Software - Printer's Plan) has a free demo. It can handle all your estimating, scheduling, accounting and exports directly to Quickbooks. The advantage of using an established Print MIS is that they make modifications based on what we printers want, and there's...

Sending XMF JAR files to customers for proofing

We've been sending the XMF jar files directly to our customers for a year and a half. They love the ability to see the spreads in booklets and brochures. Hasn't been a problem with them, although a few did have to update their Java. Version 3.0 is supposed to be able to show letter and gatefold...

Trying to arrange visit to an XMF shop

Xmf Xmf It's worked out very well for us. We're a combination offset/digital shop. Other than a few computer issues, it's been very stable and does everything we need it to do.

We're getting an occasional crash on both the G5 Mac and the Intel Mac. Stable on the Windows machines. Fuji knows it's an issue and I guess they're working on it.

    XMPie uImage vs. DirectSmile

We've been using DirectSmile for a little over a year and it's an amazing product. I can't imagine any capabilities that uImage would have that DirectSmile doesn't. I know we don't use close to all it's features yet. As far as cost, plan on around $5000 for the initial purchase, then you have a...

Xmf We'll be installing 2.0, so I'll let you know how it goes. I'm keeping our current workflow running just in case. Thanks, Craig
