There a few issues with Preps and Yosemite. I know that Kodak is aware of them and working on fixes. I just spoke to the product manger last week at the Kodak GUA conference.

    Future of printing industry ?

I disagree, we print high end cosmetic lit and nutritional lit - (Very High End) and we print it digitally on Kodak and HP equipment. Digital is far from peak, if you truly believe that you are in trouble. We are shutting down offset equipment in favor of digital, the flexibility, speed, short...

    Vacation Time

We have a CSR that always seems to have vacation whenever that CSR's jobs are going to press. It happens enough that it become a bit of a running joke. "Oh look, CSR X's job is on press tomorrow, guess it's a vacation week."

Why do we do this job????

I feel your pain. My prepress department is constantly told that the Front Office is our Customer and treat them as such. Then is the same breath the pressroom is our customer treat them as such. We slowly learned, that data wins. We use a workflow which tracks every action in the workflow...

    A question of Prinergy

We use Prinergy with Cyrel, but will be moving to Kodak Flexcel NX in the by the end of the year. It has some great features and functionality like the Rule Based Automation. I'm an inplant printer with Flexo and Offset. I know of at least 2 Flexo Trade shops that are using Prinergy very...

    Low Res PDFs to client

Greg has the right answer with the RasterPDF. We have Prinergy and been making 150dpi anti-aliased CMYK Zip Compressed PDFs for clients for a long time. A client that is "less than tech savvy" this will worked well for content approvals. The down side some clients may think there is something...

    Workflow mistakes!

Take a serious look at your file management. It sounds to me like you have a file management issue more than anything. We live and die by Time/Date stamps. Every PDF, PS, Impose file has a Time/Date stamp in the file. I'm not talking the computer file date stamp. I talking about setting the...

Flexo plate suppliers do you trim the plates to length?

This is a general question? If you supply Flexo plates do you trim them to the exact length the customer needs on press or do you let the customer do the final trim? If you receive flexo plates do you have to do a final trim? Just curious, we have a customer demanding that we trim the plates...

    Magnus 800 platesetter PROBLEM

My guess having 2 Magnus 800s is you have a failed data transfer board, with lick it's just a loose connector cable. Reconnect all or cables and try. If that doesn't work, call Kodak.
