    spectrophotometer

Correct me if I'm wrong, but ar17 was asking for Lab and density values and my understanding is that the densities measured by i1 are not reliable as it lacks polarizing filter. At least not from a wet sheet.

    AGFA & FUJIFILM CTP Devices

To my knowledge the only Screen OEM CTP that really was different from Screens own devices were the topsetter series from Heidelberg. They were actually assembled in Germany and used slightly different electrical components than Screen. Some of them were even made by Screen and thus they were...

    SDP-ECO digiplater

If my memory serves me correctly that device is based on Screen FT-R filmsetter technology. Maybe somebody has FT-R manuals that could help you.

    Screen PlateRite8600S Not Exposing Plates

Have you measured the humidity in the room? Just having two AC machines don't yet mean a thing unless you know what the real humidity is. Sometimes the AC actually dries the air.

    Different spectrophotometers readings

Is XRGA anything else but X-Rites way of trying unify devices with different light sources?

Can Preps 7 intergrate with Trueflow 7.0

Hi Duncan, Preps JDF should be usable on TF 7.x. I have not used it my self but I did once do some strange imposition stuff with Metrix to be used in Trueflow. If memory serves me right I did it using JDF out of Metrix.

    Proofing Digital Print Jobs

It also depends on how accurate the actual print must look to the proof. If you proof with an inkjet and a proper RIP software your proofs will most likely be extremely accurate to the target standard where as the for digital machines it might prove to be little more difficult to achieve the...

    Question about spot colors...

I know it's an old thread but I thought I would still answer the above question. CxF toolbox needs the information of a CxF wedge which in this case usually is a wedge with 0 -100% with 10% steps containing just the spot color and a second row with the spot color printed on top of 100% black...

X-Rite Isis 2 and CGS Oris Color Tunner Problem

Usually i1 Diagnostic is all you need to get the correct drivers for Color Tuner. I haven't used iSis2 but I do have iSis and i1 Pro 2 with iO2 table and they all work with Color Tuner without any problems.

Printing on Newspaper - 45gsm or less

You could try Canon ipf plotter series. It needs to be one of the hundred series not thousand series. The hundred series uses dye ink unlike their big brothers that use pigment ink. Dye ink seems to work quite well with newspaper paper. I have successfully done proofs on a 60g newspaper paper on...

    Epson 9890 - Missing Nozzles

Actually, the most effective long term cure for nozzle glogging has been increased humidity. One of my clients moved their 3 Epsons and a Roland to a dedicated printer room where they have a simple humidifier. Their print head problems went down about 90%.

    Epson 9890 - Missing Nozzles

I'm right there with Stephen. What you show in the image is pretty normal behavior for an epson printer. Also second point is correct by my experience. The more you use it the better it stays.

    Epson 9800 printhead error message?

Well if the print looks good and you get no errors, I would say that is the case.

Landa S10 Cost Per Impression Thoughts

I don't know the exact details but Komori is making the feeder and delivery on the Landa machine as well. I would also think that the whole paper handling inside the machine is also done by Komori except of course the ink laying part. So there should be quite a lot of common parts in both...

    EQUIOS vs Xmf

Hi Keith, it is possible to use random page numbering in Equios as well. It is different from how it was done in Trueflow but it's definitely there.
