Programing the 1992 Polar 115 EMC Monitor cutter

Hello Al. On Monday morning, I'll take a snapshot of our computer and pinpoint the key because I cannot recall from memory either, what the symbol looks like. Guess I'm getting old and dementia is setting in :D Since your model is older than ours, it may differ, but if you want to resolve the...

Programing the 1992 Polar 115 EMC Monitor cutter

Perhaps then, the clamping without cut option would work for you? on our machine there are many menu screens with additional functions. That should be there. I always remembered, right side series of keys, top row, middle button. That's where the function is in our computer.

Programing the 1992 Polar 115 EMC Monitor cutter

Sorry Al, our 78X only offers a clamping without cut option where you can program a position and move the backgauge to that spot, activate the clamp, and move onto the next step. I believe the next model up from a 78X has a more richly featured computer where that is possible because I did...

Does Gloss UV always give Texture / Grain?

We've also had this problem in the past on our TEC Lighting system. I switched over from the TEC coating to the Anchor equivalent because we found the TEC coating to be quite thick and therefore, to me, would result on a grainy type application. However that is just a theory. We are also coating...

Tec Lighting UV coater and venting question

We too use 2709. Perhaps it is the curing process and the vapors created as a result of it? All I know is that 1 person has gotten a skin condition from contact, hives. And myself have gotten nosebleeds and of course, headache. This happened to me when I was coating 15,000 pieces, 2 sides so a...

    Inline score and fold

I've never had to score a 16 or 32 page sig. in the second unit. Only if the form ends up being perfect bound or cut to finish, then I use a perf to let the air out because we don't own a 16 page bank at my current place of buisness, we have a Stahl VFZ 52. It does o.k., but there's no...

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

Oneman: Vijuk is a fine machine. We just couldn't seem to get the numbers out of them that we did with MBO. To be honest, in my previous shop with 5 MBO's we did purchase a Vijuk for a smaller format job that was a steady. We sold it 3 months later. I never really found out why. When I ran it...

Tec Lighting UV coater and venting question

Can anyone give me any input here? Perhaps a TEC lighting rep.?

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

Steel and rubber roller or urethane by the turn of the composition. Because the width of each section Design Differ. Some folding roll 30% of the surface area of rubber, and some 40% or 50% of the of rubber. Combination of modular steel folding rollers and rubber rollers roll the merits of its...

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

If your tensions are correct and rollers are not worn in the center more than the edges, I have never experiences wrinkles on these machines, nor crooked folds. We used our 5 MBOs for pharmaceutical folding. Mind you they all had gluing systems and 3 of the 5 had crushers at the end of 2 to 3...

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

I would have to agree with you. Orientation is very important, no matter what weight and grain direction. I wonder if the rollers are out of parallel or just plain worn. But having ran just about everything out there, Vijuk, Baum, MBO, Stahl and yes, even a Cleveland.....I, as an operator...

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

I have an idea. Use an MBO. It has a narrower roller and the spiral rollers are perfect for consisten tension. As my trainer once said,"It's all in the rollers". However I realize that you cannot scrap your folder and buy an MBO, but I would do it in a heartbeat, having the funds to do so...

Tec Lighting UV coater and venting question

We have a Tec Lighting coating system that I run and all we have for venting is the dryer-type line that pulls the heat off the UV lamp. It is vented through the roof. My question is, I have noticed while running it, that is irritates my nose to the point of bleeding and other people in the shop...

    Small Score Unit or Tabletop

We have a Morgana Auto-Creaser and it is a fine machine. It's perfect for that digital crap that people want because it scores jobs with toner and almost eliminates cracking on them. We also have a Cylinder press but try and use the Morgana as much as possible.

Uv coating problem on xerox prints

You may try speeding up your machine a little too, that sometimes helps lessen application a little. Or try another brand of coating. Our TEC machine really works better with their brand of coating. Myself, i see little difference in coatings of different brands. However, every shop always has...
