    Business Rescue

That's just too scary to think about.... My previous employer decided that instead of moving into a new building and expanding an already booming print shop (because the city wanted the building we were in and insisted on having it) the he would just close the shop and put 38 people out of...

    The Intern Redux

I believe that no matter what the job or what the pay you should always try your hardest and do your best work. It may not pay off now, but it will pay off later (unless you work for fast food... then it never pays off)!!!!

Is it Worth To Buy C8000 Or Buy the C70Hc Or C6000

The only time I ever got any real "bounce" on our C8000 is when I ran some 14 Pt. C2S, which is way above spec for that machine. Running 100# Gloss cover is a breeze for us and is what we run for 95% of our jobs. If we start to see some registration issues, I merely go through the "both sides...

Is it Worth To Buy C8000 Or Buy the C70Hc Or C6000

As long as you keep up with your "both side adjust" setting for each paper type and drawer you will be able to maintain a good registration. Something to remember, everything wears down over time and you may need to have a preventative maintenance done, or readjust your registration settings...

    Duplexing registration tolerances_km c6000

Listen to Dwight there... He's got it right. I use the "both sides adjust" any time I find my duplexing not working to my satisfaction and it always takes care of the problem. Good Luck!

Hi can you help with some sage advice

I have used NexPress and Konica Bizhub. Both produce high quality work with great color matching capabilities, however the Kodak spends way too much time needing repairs for my liking. Something was always breaking or needing replacement. The Konica on the other hand has been running like a...

    Extra charges for heavy coverage????????

Why in the world does the company think it has the right to dictate what kind of printing you are supposed to produce? Are they saying you are only allowed to print a small amount of text on a sheet of 12x18 paper? This is obnoxious at best and illegal at worst. Good Luck!

    Extra charges for heavy coverage????????

I haven't dealt with Xerox much, but it seems to me that you should be able to get out of the lease. At best, you could try to leverage them into honoring the original contract by threatening to go with another vendor. There are a wider variety of digital presses and copier companies that make...

    Accuzip???

Our shop is currently using BCC Mail Manager, which in my opinion is an excellent program that allows you to do everything you could imagine when it comes to bulk mail. While it may be more expensive than some people want or can afford, just the support they offer is worth the added expense. You...

Is the Death of Offset Near?

I was merely comparing the replacement of one technology with another. In the sense that anything can become obsolete, no matter how long it's been used. That's all...

Is the Death of Offset Near?

Anyone remember Mimeographs? I remember as a kid, my teachers copying tests and hand-outs for class on those things. Hand cranking copy after copy and sucking up vinegar fumes for hours... now look at even the most basic copier. Anything can become obsolete... even offset printing. The printing...

    Need VDP Software Advice...

Thanks for the information. I have looked at both Smartstream and Pagebuilder. Smartstream was a nice choice, but I was under the impression that it was only for the Indigo... I could be wrong. Pagebuilder starts at $6,000 according to the website, so that is out of our price range. I have been...

    Need VDP Software Advice...

The company I work for is going to be migrating from windows based vdp (PrintShop Mail 7) to a Macintosh system using Adobe CC. I need a reasonably priced VDP plugin for InDesign that can handle basic variable data, IMB, QR Codes, etc. And by reasonably priced I mean under $3,000.00. I would...
