Looking to upgrade imposition proofer speed from Designjet 4000 w/ Spinjet

We used an old Spinjet for several years and then upgraded to an Impoproofer about a year ago. Running postscript from Apogee Printdrive to the Impoproof RIP. Had some configurations problems initially the first month but once we got past that the Impoproofer has worked great. Backup is...

    SpinJet Doubled Sided Proofer

I set up Apogee to output 8 bit tiffs using the "Tiff Proofer" Which then dropped into Spinflow hotfolders. Worked really well. We just recently changed to Impoproof though, much more consistent backup. Anyone looking for a used HP Designjet 5500 w/ Spinjet 42"?? See my attachment on flow.

    Any ApogeeX 6 Users?

By far the weakest element of Apogee is Preps. I have used Esko with FastImpose in the past, which blows Preps away! Kodak Preps integrated with Agfa Apogee has always been a frustration with us, can't believe Agfa took so long to develop their own imposition program. For Agfa's first release...

    Email Proofs

We use Accellion Secure File Transfer. Web based, customers do not need to install anything, Outlook plugin for our CSRs, over 120 customers using it and a "e-mail" user interface. By far the best FTP service when we did our evaluation, not cheap but our customers wanted simplicity. Secure...

Actually we just had our Preproduction Dept. dissolved. CSRs and Prepress were under one dept.for about 4 years. We were told over and over that we are all "Customer service", it was quite a struggle to get everyone working as one, but we finally did. But that all changed recently, we have...

    ApogeeX Client for Mac

You need to create a host file on the mac, put the name of your server and your mac in the host file. Then you need to create a host file on the server with the name of you mac. I had the same problem, the host files fixed this.

    ApogeeX 4

Re: ApogeeX 4 Just finished my training in Boston couple of weeks ago. We moved from Esko Scope, and i really have to say that Esko wins hands down. I really believe if you design a workflow you should not rely on third party tools to complete your system. I agree with someone above, Preps is...

    Goodbye to Esko

    Goodbye to Esko

After 8 years of working with Esko, starting with the VMS operating system we are changing our workflow. Alot of time and money to get to where we are now. But time to face new a new challenge....Apogee X 4.0. More automation, web portal for clients, JDF, equals reduced manpower for prepress...

What do you have and what's your opinion of it?

Re: What do you have and what's your opinion of it? We also use EFI Logic, we have been using for several years, and we are also a beta tester. We run all the Logic tools, Printflow for Scheduling, and Autocounts on presses and folders. There are still limitations and workarounds on what we...
