    Mako 46 imaging fault

Good day, 2023 has been such a bad year, machines failing everywhere. I have the 4th Mako failure in 2 months. In this case a Mako46, Navigator 9 RIP, SCSI cable connecting to an AVA2906 adaptec card. The RIP goes through its normal procedure, no errors. Mako shows its imaging and indicating a...

    Screen PalteRite 8000II Errors

Was thinking it could be the drum motor and power pack. On the PTR variant I work on the drum motor has a electrical connector that has power and communication to the power pack. I once had a bad connection. Just unplugged, lubricated and re-plugged it solved my issue. It suggests a power pack...

    MAKO46 Imaging issue

Maxon All results have been permanent, irrespective of temperature. I initially thought a spinner motor, when I had an image. Now I thought something else. I was starting to think that the laser data is not been processed properly or in a timely manner. It would seem that there are too many...

    MAKO46 Imaging issue

Good morning Hope you are well. I kindly ask for some technical advice on a MAKO 46. Equipment: MAKO46 (High Speed Spinner motor) connected via Pelbox, adaptec AVA2906 to Navigator 9.01 on Windows XP The machine worked fine for long time in this configuration. An issue arose where the image...

    MAKO 46 intermittent distorted image

Maxon, Thank you for your advice. I cleaned everything carefully and well. Belts appear new (I never personally changed them. I don't have a tension tool so will need to find or make one. I did check the clutches and make some small adjustments to tension as I felt they were uneven. (not yet...

    MAKO 46 intermittent distorted image

Maxon, O-Rings seem fine, all bearings seem fine. You are correct, distortion was length wise and intermittently shorter by varied values (smaller image height). I changed the input cassette and used another manufacturer of film and same problem occurred (intermittently). The customer had...

    MAKO 46 intermittent distorted image

Good day I have been investigating an intermittent distorted image in the rolling direction. (not across the width). The distortion appears to occur on the last 15 meters of AGFA HNS film. Distortion ranges from 2 -5 mm. Across multiple rolls of film, I could rule out material to a point. A...

    Error Code E4e03 ptr4300s

I would check for a floating neutral. Ive had to fit a bunch of isolation transformers to remove this floating neutral. All laser failures and overvoltage gone

    hybrid offset/flexo ctp

Screen PTR FX1200 and FX1524 can do both. But these are Flexo CTP machines with the ability to make litho plates. Its not a production litho plate maker ie dont buy it if you intend making more than 20 litho plates a day. I think you are better buying in your flexo plates from a repro house.

Heidelberg Prosetter74 making hair lines in halftone screens and solids

My 2cents worth. 1. Check the earth strap, add another earth strap. 2. Check you power, neutral to earth. I've had fluctuating voltage leaks from 0.5v to 6v which was enough to cause stupid random lines. 3. Change change the LDS cable/data cable from shooter to prosetter and move it away from...

    Laser Power Problem

Depending on the type of laser, the older types, you have the ability to clean the laser aperture. The final lens and head lenses should be cleaned in case. The worst case scenario is the diode has a fatal failure and cleaning wont help. Depending on the head and lasers you could change the...

    Laser Power Problem

Sounds like you have a failed diode. You need a new laser LD first. It is possible that LD is causing the board error. I've had a diode pull a complete board down. It could also be a driver board problem.
