Summa cutters are one of best in class. We own 2 of them and hey run excellent. If it is achivable for you, buy the t series with tangential knives, whixh work even better.

Just cut it in half keeping 1 inch of overlap. Then you print 2 files and "glue" banner together.

The color output is certainly different, you are unable to get "navy blue" - something like pantone 208 on hc65, magentas are "problem" as well. It does though produce very vibrant colors, almost fosforescent yellow etc. The machine otherwise preforms pretty much the same as 5601 and is not...

For the maps, there is a service that was presented on DRUPA. They charge about 1 USD per address, I can't remember the actual name, but I am sure Google would find it :). You send them csv file with streets, they include pictures in it. Then you use them as normal variable image data.

On drupa 2008 Xante was showing a lenticular laser desktop, but I never found it anywhe else. Check with them what happened.

Amortisation, paper cost, rent cost, worker cost, i'd add about 10% onto these for test prints, education and research + desire profit of course. Now wait, you're 20% above competition? Optimize workflow costs :)

We are trying to uv coat digital prints with glossy coating for digital (drytac) on a simple no-name uv coater. The problem we get is "wrinkled" gloss, like some kind of wavy surface. The problem is not present on some test coatings done on offset prints with another coating, so i guess it is...
