    Skew on Morgana Docufold Pro

We have this model folder and we don't have this skew issue--or when we do have a slight skew, using the roller tilt lever does the trick. My first guess is that your prints were not cut square. Either the backstop on your cutter is off, or the sheets weren't squared into the corner when placed...

    carbonless collator

Understood @Philem. Since we don't use a collator, I can't give you advice on friction vs vacuum. I tend to lean towards suction feed simply because there are no feed tires to wear out and slip over time. But you mentioned that your Bourg unit worked for all those years, so it sounds like...

Justifying Equipment Purchase... Recession... Financing Options - HELP!

We were running into this same issue with the Oki C942 envelope press we purchased. We mostly got the white toner feature in case the opportunity to use it came up and it wasn't much more than the 4C unit, but we noticed the level was going down even though we never used white. Luckily, the Oki...

    carbonless collator

@Philem , I'm still trying to understand why you need to collate...? Do your customers require unique order of the color sheets that you can't get in the pre-collated sets? We also have two Riso duplicators which we run the majority of our NCR jobs on. If it's one sided and doesn't require...

    Roland vs Mimaki

The supposed cost per sq ft was similar enough between the two. However, the operation cost goes up significantly on the Mimaki if you have to throw away a partially used ink bottle.

    A Product's Life

Stop bragging about your low gas prices LOL I live in CA and gas has been closer to $6/gallon!! 😭

    A Product's Life

That coffee alarm is pretty funny. Those MPG numbers piqued my interest since I owned an older model before someone rear ended me...I never got mileage like that! But I'm curious how you're managing to exceed what that car is even rated for under best conditions. This is from Hyundai's website:

    Poll: Switching to Affinity?

I supposed, but for my purposes I feel like that's implied with the available answers. If they switch or are switching then they liked it and/or found it simple enough. Otherwise, there's the option you selected which is you didn't like Affinity. I trialed the software and made a few projects. I...

    Poll: Switching to Affinity?

I'm looking for some feedback on how popular the Affinity design software suite is. If you're not a graphic designer, please respond based on the designers at your print shop.

    Duplo DC-445 350gsm?

@gazfocus , here's a link to a PDF of the manual. It shows how to disable double feed starting on page 29, then scroll down to step "5-7" on pg 30.

    Duplo DC-445 350gsm?

I used to run a Duplo 616 and I recall that there was the option to turn off double sheet detection. The machine may be giving a false reading of double sheets because your media is so thick.

    Print Embellishment w/ Spot UV

I definitely agree with this. You should already be outsourcing a consistent amount of this work or losing bids because you can't do it in house. Business won't just start pouring in because you have the ability. If/When you do acquire the machine, here's a great way to market it and get the...

    Print Embellishment w/ Spot UV

@Ethan V , not all KM dealers are authorized to sell the MGI product line. Their techs have to be certified in working on them since they are a different animal compared to digital copiers. You will probably have to reach out to KM direct. As for the pricing, the JV 3D One came out after I left...

How do you Laminate Book Covers?

There's a great channel on Youtube called Just a Printer. In this video, he shows how to do this process.

    Print Embellishment w/ Spot UV

Just to explore all options, you may also want to look at the JetVarnish 3D One by Konica Minolta as part of your decision making process. This unit is made in partnership with MGI who is one of the pioneers of print embellishment. Prior to this unit, they only had much bigger units that also...

    small print shop services?

Both medias will work - but have different feels/applications. Just make sure you get the kind that is designed for your printer since you have pigment based inks. However, I would not recommend using your printer for outdoor banners and signs. Pigment based ink fade after only a few months in...

    small print shop services?

I don't know what you're already offering but here are some ideas that come to mind that don't require much, if any, additional equipment: Scratch pads, AKA tear pads. Real estate agents love hand outs with their name and photo on them. These are easy to produce. You can even go a step further...

    carbonless collator

We make alot of the stapled NCR books with the manilla wrap around covers as well...and they are numbered. However, we've streamlined the process where the collating and numbering is all done on our Konica's. We use VDP (Variable data printing) to number the forms. We purchase the NCR...

    carbonless collator

First, that's quite impressive for that unit to last nearly 30 years. Perhaps a newer CP Bourg would be a good idea since it's proven itself over these years. I haven't used the Duplo collators personally, but Duplo tends to be a solid brand, and suction is always better since you don't have...
