Thanks everyone. I think we got it dialed in for this run at least. I ended up adjusting the “image shift” in the Fiery command station. Once we get the job finished up I’ll try some of the additional suggestions everyone made. I did have one other question. We found we can only cut 2 books...
I’m new at utilizing imposition software and digital printing. We have a xerox c70 and are trying to set up a job for perfect binding. (Our first). We are trying to set up the interior pages as “step & repeat”, 4-up on 13x19 with the thought that we cut the 13x19 and end up with 4 sets of...
I’m just branching off into digital printing. It’ll never be a big part of our business but it is nice to be able to offer some additional products to our accounts. We’ve been asked to print 5000 cards to be included with our main products. It is a very basic 65# uncoated cover, full color...
Thanks Magnus. I’m not sure on your question about pixels. Attached is the part of the cover in question. This is a pic of a printed off cover on glossy 100#C. I used the same image 18 months or so ago on the web and wasn’t very impressed with the resolution back then and that was on a smaller...
Hi everyone. I wanted to see if you could provide me your thoughts. I’m trying to secure a job of booklets. The cover was completed by a graphic designer utilizing InDesign. Part of the cover utilized a photo which is 1296 px sq, 208 dpi. The finished booklet will be 5.5x8.5. I ran a sample...
Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to try it out. It seems with Imposition Studio, as I image all software, is geared for offset which makes sense. I just want to be able to easily set up for digital and make adjustments like the placement on the page, gutters, etc.
Thank you both. So I took the file to a fellow printer today and printed it off. It came out as like it was supposed to look. Any ideas? I tried calibrating again but still no dice. I’m sent some pics of both printouts and the file to where I purchased everything from. Could it be a bad fiery...
I’m starting to get a bit embarrassed having to ask all these questions.
I’m working on printing a designer‘s file that was created in InDesign. He provided 2 files. He said one was RGB and the other CMYK. Whatever I do, I cannot closely match the image on the screen. Ive taken a few pics and...
Does anyone know where to find the "repeating defects page" on the c70? I cannot locate it anywhere and cannot find an article online referencing the c70
I just thought…when I ran those test sheets, I was only using 60 text. I ran new ones using 80 cover. Much easier to see now. I also was able to speak with a tech. He was thinking a drum or fuser. I have a fuser coming and the company I purchased it from is sending a black drum. Attached are...
So if I’m mainly just going to be tweaking client layout to run booklets, is there a consensus on what may be easiest to use? I like the idea of creating one proof file, and then a 2up/4up version as well. Or maybe a better question, is there one/two that would be overkill?
