    PSL Jetletter and .pdf workflow

We have a Canon Imagepress 10000 with the PrismaSync RIP. I usually just drop the PDF directly into a hotfolder since the RIP is pretty fast, but Jetletter can also export a PPML file to send to your RIP for really large stuff.

    PSL Jetletter and .pdf workflow

You can't do fixups in it. Think of your PDF as a shell layer and you're adding your VDP layers on top of it. You'll still need InDesign/Pitstop to fix and prep the files first, unless it's something basic, like adding an Indicia or generic text boxes Typically my design/prepress guys get the...

    PSL Jetletter and .pdf workflow

When I have some downtime I'll try to make a video with something generic so I don't expose a client's info. Do you have a specific thing you want it to do?

    Versant 180 Envelope Color Nightmare

There's a tech shortage in Canon as well. I think the pay is pretty mediocre, and the hours are awful. Our techs all started retiring and no one new is coming in to take their place. Also, you might want to get in touch with your service manager if your tech is so reluctant to change parts out.

    Best envelope printer?

Quite a bit. I think an NXT is about 12-15k, 1175 quotes around $60k+

    PSL Jetletter and .pdf workflow

Jetletter is basically designed for a PDF workflow. You just link your PDF, add a text box and then link the data. You can do advanced programming if you want, but a lot of it is simple and visual.

    Printer's Bookshelf

It just seems like every book I see about printing is severely outdated.

    PSL Jetletter wont install properly.

Does it just sit there and hang after you activate your serial #? If so, I've had issues with that as well, but I contacted support and got it resolved.

KM PI-502 won't insert after last printed page

Not sure if it'll help, but you're not telling it to print page 68 anywhere in your page settings. Maybe it's not inserting anything because you're not telling it to print? Also, you could try inserting the last page as the first page. you'd only need to fix one set at the end.

Colour standards and correction for offset

You may also need to find better vendors. We've had a few trade vendors that just don't appear to have any quality standards, and you could give them perfect files and never get a good product in return.

Mail Merge job - NO Sequence Numbers allowed.

We sometimes sneak a sequence number into the endorsement line so it looks like it's a postal requirement. Otherwise you just need to be super careful and spot check frequently, because it's super easy to mess up if you don't have something to easily identify.

    Printing Carbonless on the i300

It's listed as a supported substrate in the brochure. I honestly can't think of a reason it'd be a problem. Also, congrats on having that machine. How do you like it so far?

Xerox V180 Windows 10 install gives me the wrong driver

You could look for it on the PC that has the driver in the "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" folder. Open it and try searching for "xerox", and hopefully you can just move those onto the 2nd pc and you can install that driver. That said, I doubt there were major improvements to...

major black issue with Ricoh 9100

It looks to me like your Fiery halftone screens are set up incorrectly. Hopefully a Fiery user can provide more info since I don't have a Fiery controller here, but it kinda looks like it's set to something like "error diffusion" instead of a line/dot screen. Also, could you scan your printouts...

PDF Export Question for InDesign - Acrobat 10 & Later

Have you tried exporting as a PDF/X4? Any modern rip should support it, and it generally fixes weird issues with transparency and stuff like that. I dunno what RIP the KM-1 uses, but this website was helpful for me for setting up our Imagepress settings to make sure jobs printed properly.

    Windows 11

Combining folders: Right click the taskbar > taskbar settings > combine taskbar buttons > never. Not sure why you think you need a special program for it. Almost every single annoyance you have is easily disabled by right clicking on the taskbar and disabling it. I'll agree that 90% of those...
