Digital over runs. What do you do?

Staff member mis-reads job bag. Prints x1000. (should have been x500 as the job was 2up) Do you- 1/Throw x 500 in the bin! and take a long walk before you do/say something you will regret. 2/Put x 500 on the shelf ( in the very remote chance that the customer will order again with no changes...

    Duplo DC-646 v Duplo DC-618

thanks Jacob. All good information. Yes if the price difference is not huge I would tend to go for a new 618. The only thing I know is it will be heaps more expensive in this part of the world (everything is). thanks Simon

    Duplo DC-646 v Duplo DC-618

Hi there, tossing up between these two. 646. on the + side The 646 is an older machine (cheaper) + according to the spec sheet is a little faster. The 618 is hard to get hold of second hand ( I can't afford a new one and even if I could the ROI does not really add up). 618. on the + side...

Fastest way to add bleeds to a supplied PDF file.

Hi there Thanks to everyone for your suggestions, we have tried the adobe acrobat preflight with mirroring and it has worked, however there seems to be unusual white boxes at the ends of each corner (screen shot attached) bleed works perfectly but if anyone knows how to remove the white boxes...

Fastest way to add bleeds to a supplied PDF file.

Thanks Guys. Look like I might need to invest in "Pitstop" I do have an old version here. Came pre installed on my Fiery server when I purchased my V2100 many years ago. Not sure If I can use this version to upgrade?. I realise its a plug in for adobe acrobat, so Im guessing if there is two...

Fastest way to add bleeds to a supplied PDF file.

Hi there. Fastest way to add bleeds to a supplied PDF file. ? Hard to beat the old simply blow up by 1-2 % method. I use this about 80% of the time. (I never have had a customer notice the image was larger), but of course you can't do this when there is text/logos very close to the trim...

    Iridesse to Ricoh/Konica

Hi Josh. I'm in a similar situation with my old V2100. Might go down the v3100i path. (sometimes better the devil you know). On the whole I've been reasonably happy with the quality of my v2100 (all though I go through 3-4 BTR's a month). It took me awhile to convince Fuji that I could fit these...

NCR. middle sheet ok to use as bottom sheet?

Yes, but if your using it as a replacement for the bottom sheet it won't matter as there is a writing shield anyway, Probably not a good idea to use as a replacement for the top sheet. (might affect the ability to write on with carbon on the top). ta Simon

NCR. middle sheet ok to use as bottom sheet?

Hi there, The title says it all. I can't see any reason why I can't use the middle sheet (CFB) as a replacement for the bottom sheet (CF) when I have to. I realise CFB is more expensive, it's just that some time I run out a specific colour in CF (carbon front) and it would be very handy to...

Dispatching finished jobs. (carton or shrink wrap?)

Thanks guys. Box's are expensive in this part of the would. Not uncommon to pay around $2.00US for an average size carton. Might not seem like a big deal but at the end of the financial year. we are not talking chicken feed.

Dispatching finished jobs. (carton or shrink wrap?)

Hi there. Interested in getting members feedback on this- We seem to be wasting a huge amount of time (and expense) sourcing the correct size cartons. (most of our jobs are couriered). Corrugated cartons are not cheap ( not professional enough using used ones and they often have printing on...

    Duplo PFI Bind 2000 PUR

Hi there!. Just the users guide like you have. It would be nice to have the full manual. I get my glue from "smartech" Australia. I'm in New Zealand. Not a huge number of these in this part of the world. Seems to going ok now. Gave all the internals a good clean out. FYI if the sensors get out...

v2100 upgrade to v3100 worth it?

Thanks guys. All very useful information. Yes the v180i (v280) might be an option. I tend to do all my finishing offline. (better for so many reasons). Yes I'm in New Zealand, no major supply issues here so far. Another concern is the fiery side of things. My fiery is getting very old on my...

v2100 upgrade to v3100 worth it?

Hi there. Any feed back on this would be appreciated. Desperately need a back up machine. (Techs can be very slow turning up). Currently running a Fuji Xerox V2100. (yes I know, old) My budget only really allows for a v180 or a v3100. (unfortunately my budget won't stretch to a v3100i) The...

    Is Xerox a Buyout Target?

You might be interested to know Xerox has already been purchased by FujiFilm in this part of the world. (Australia/New Zealand). As a side issue I see you guys have been having trouble getting Xerox consumables for quite some time! I haven't noticed any problems with my v2100. I know our Xerox...
