How to explain "overprint" to dumb clients?

Hi all! I'm trying to explain to: Customer care colleagues, sales agents, ignorant customers ...the importance of activating "overprint preview" in Acrobat, but all of them can't even think in terms of ink overlays, so they don't understand. I'm looking for a metaphor, or an analogy, to try to...

    TRY TO PREFLIGHT THIS !!

Hi savage, could you show me how you set up that rule in Acrobat Preflight? Mine says nothing, so I presume it'd be an easy fix.

    TRY TO PREFLIGHT THIS !!

Hi Folks! Here are some "white" elements on a black background. If you open the PDF using OsX Preview then you can see them, otherwise not. But they are not the usual "white overprint"! I can't figure out how they are made! How about you?

How are ICCs going on design?

Thankfully, I don't work in books publishing anymore - just single page graphics for packaging.

How are ICCs going on design?

Oh, and please don't forget that every client thinks in their own way, big or small. I handle PDF files from a global corporation, created by a very large repro house, where they print 5 spot colors to create graphics and images. When I asked them what standard they were working on, they said...

How are ICCs going on design?

Sorry, did you mean "ICC tagged objects" in the pdf VS the general ICC used at the document level? (my English is bad!)

How are ICCs going on design?

How are ICCs going on design?

(I hope the choice to put this poll here to be wise enough) This question raised from the fact that designers continue to send us jobs without knowing what an ICC profil is. So what is your experience on it? Mine is wide... They give us file using all the options I set in the poll. For...

Editing a Normalized PDF in Illustrator

Esko is moving from "normalized pdf" to "pdf+" - even this is their own. Them pdfs are both filled up with metadata for Esko software - then nothing new. From Esko documentations: What is the difference between regular PDF, PDF+, and Normalized PDF Both PDF+ and Normalized PDF are to a large...

    ILLUSTRATOR lost font

you know, apart from the initial topic... I may agree with you, and you may convince everyone you say this to, but the fact remains that 99% of designers will never know about these ideas of yours, and will continue to use this feature just because it exists. It's really sad by a repro point of...

    ILLUSTRATOR lost font

It was precisely an Illustrator file with PDF compatibility - the font loss was visible opening the file in Acrobat. I could argue with the fact of saving an AI file using PDF compatibility was not an issue for those who programmed this feature into Illustrator... But still, I don't wanna go...
