Hi there, I'd like to ask you about your working methods... I have clients that come here asking to print some XYZ Pantone on yellowish, or blueish, or grayish papers (not the white one used in the color guides)... Maybe the Pantone they ask for is "C" and the colored paper is kind of "U" too...

Here is what I've done to get what I wanted... A first print-run using no TVI curves, measuring only 100% patches, using eXact eXrite "best match" feature to print as close as possible to the target, then I've measured screened patches, made custom TVI curves for every ink, made a second-run...

Talking about the 100% color patches we are supposed to print tailor-made inks so my thought was to reach the LAB values for those and then measuring TVI on screened patches. I understand this could seem a weird procedure, but here we are - and here I am only with a file and a printed proof...

Since the colorbar is screened I thought to measure TVI values on it and to use these values to make tailored TVI curves - one for every ink. So... 1. printing the same colorbar using my printing machines. 2. measuring the colorbar to make TVI curves. 3. applying new curves and print the job.

We print offset, the proof should be digital printed on the same paper we are using and it simulates screens (maybe GMG).

Hello there!! A client gave us his file and his printed proof. The design is built on 6 custom inks (or spot colours) - see image. They are not the usual CMYK. Luckily both print and file have the same color bar - 100-80-40-20%. The goal is to print 6 plates to let our pressman do the job...

I agree with Macmann - many Esko techs told me the same: they are going toward ArtPro+ while PackEdge and Plato are "upgraded" only in the version number - which follow the current year, by the way. In fact if you use them then you can see no real development of those software in the last years...

Thank you Ulrich, we are not printing Flexo - we are printing offset so I suppose the minimum printed dot is 1%. ;-) We print at 200 LPI @25% = 36%; @50% = 62%. Does it make sense? Am I wrong?

Hello there, I'm still filling forms about things I don't understand! My English is bad enough to not let me understand some tech phrases. Eg: Specify min dot & growth of c/m/y/k: @3% @25% @50% What are they talking about? TVI? Dot gain? Could someone help me??

I still use Acrobat 11.0.18 because I'm so used to it and cannot swallow the new DC interface. Plus I don't understand why, in the same machine, using the same printer, only Acrobat DC prints using the Trim Box of PDF instead of Media Box. Is it just me or someone else out there?
